An Honest Review of Grove Collaborative

Hello! Welcome to a review of a brand I have wanted to discuss for a while! this is unsponsored and unbiased, I am just sharing my experience and providing information for those who might be interested in purchasing or have questions about the experience.

What?

Grove Collaborative is an earth-conscious brand, dedicated to social responsibility they offer a VIP package or a product-based subscription service that offers free shipping (on orders of a certain threshold) these items will ship out to you on a reoccurring occasion and are separate from a VIP subscription.

So without further ado let’s get into an honest review of Grove Collaborative as someone who has made multiple orders throughout 3 to 4 years.

Why?

Grove Collaborative can be useful for people who consistently order the same products every month and like to contribute to good causes while shopping. Such as 100% of the plastic they sell, they recover the same amount of ocean-bound plastic or countless other organizations.

How?

Only to new customers are the Grove collaborative free bundles available this means that only one email address and one shipping address are eligible for the one-time free gift set that you’ve probably seen everywhere, they have a few different options that you can choose from based on availability and season.

Below you will find a review of two “free gift sets” three years apart.

The review

I purchased a welcoming tote kit in 2021 the advertisement came to me via Instagram as I was searching for eco-friendly products.

Unboxing

When receiving your grove box, the first thing you’ll notice is its thoughtfully designed packaging. The brown corrugated cardboard box not only ensures the safety of the contents but also reflects our commitment to sustainability. Upon opening the box, a kind handwritten greeting on the top creates a personal connection, setting the tone for a delightful unboxing experience. As you unbox further, you’ll find a welcome card and carefully curated advertisements neatly nestled within the box, all tightly packed and wrapped with brown kraft paper. This meticulous attention to detail ensures that every aspect of your grove box experience is harmonious, from the protection of its contents to its eco-friendly shipping practices.

Quality

With the items shipping to you at little to no cost it’s normal to wonder if they will last or are made with durable materials and still align with their sustainability.

These glass spray bottles are a similar design to the ones that are in the box from 2021, they are very durable glass and easy to clean, the new versions are now labeled at the bottom, and the sprayer mechanisms are smooth, unlike some lower priced nozzles.

This peach-saver soap bag is well crafted, soft, and allows for exfoliation.
Grove co. works with the finest companies and therefore they are more selective with whom they partner and work with, some well known like Dr. Bronner soap, and even their own brand is very well crafted and an amazing product, they do not feel like a “ready to ship” or a “drop ship item”

Pro’s & Con’s

Long-term Product review

The items received in my 2021 welcome kit lasted me a surprisingly long amount of time the European towels lasted about seven months before they started to tear and completely wear down well they are good replacements for washcloths they are stiff and difficult to manipulate when dry so if you were to use them I highly recommend you Keep them very clean to extend their life or just use a 100% cotton rag.

The walnut sponges are very useful they lift stuck on food and clean surfaces very well the walnut will start to become unfurled and caused things to gum up much like a regular scour pad but much much less abrasive.

The dishwashing packs were nothing spectacular they didn’t lift the food as easily as some brand-name dishwashing detergents would do but they may have changed their formula after this post and I have not tried since then.

The Grove brand cleaning solution is extremely powerful potent and does a fantastic job at cleaning the orange scent isn’t too powerful and the pine scent Featured in the 2024 Grove collaborative small exactly like a fresh pine tree while still cleaning and being subtle so it smells very natural I would highly recommend getting the refills if you were someone who goes through a lot of cleaning solution as these are concentrated and do not come in plastic containers.

And lastly the soap bar and tea tree kitchen wipes were both very good quality but a little overprice and nothing that can’t be found or bought locally!
