Confidence is beautiful

Seeing yourself blossom and find strengths in something your passionate about is nothing short of incredible.

When I first started doing photography I sort of boxed myself into a single category, which was mostly macro and abstract items, could of been a flower or a bowl of apples, it’s what I was comfortable shooting and framing.

Then I started to travel more and got into landscape photography, mountains (some may call them grass covers hills) lakes rivers heck even some dirt roads are cool looking!

And then I became really fascinated with portraits,getting to embark on that journey was not the easiest since I didn’t have many people around who liked to have their picture taken, so I started experimenting with ideas with my own self and have had great success so far and am constantly learning the ins and outs of different environments.

Over the last two or three years I’ve been really captivated by blend of traveling and people aka street photography!

While this isn’t really a marketable or even popular thing to see in a smaller town I’ve found myself seeking out as many events as possible to scope out the variety that my area has to offer, the cool jackets, the pinned up hair, the smoked out makeup and this is just a start for some people it’s all soo cool I want to photograph the vast range of interpretations that people showcase and put out there!! But I’ve always been too shy or timid to ask…until now!

Recently I have been attending events and when I see someone in a cool outfit or just emitting a energy I ask very politely if I can take their photograph, none of them as of yet have said no but I’m also not asking every Tom, Barbra and Sarah I see as sometimes I might not look the part or give off the impression of a certain type of photographer or someone of importance I always disclose that I’ll be adding to my portfolio and always ask with respect, eventually perhaps I’ll have enough confidence to go out and capture all I see, adding to my portfolio ⸜(｡˃ ᵕ ˂ )⸝♡

So let this be a boost of confidence or your sign to go out and explore what YOUR city’s streets have to display, textiles are a very diverse way to display feelings, art, culture and so much more!

Never give up on what you love to do and continue to try new perspectives even if others never say you can!
